Foley Catheters (Indwelling Urinary Catheters)
Foley catheters are sterile, flexible indwelling urinary catheters inserted through the urethra into the bladder to provide continuous urinary drainage. An inflatable balloon near the tip holds the catheter in place once inserted; commonly used for patients needing accurate urine output monitoring, urinary retention management, or peri-operative bladder decompression — including dialysis patients requiring close fluid balance monitoring. Note: Foley catheters also appear under the Urology category elsewhere in this catalog — kept here as well since the item was requested for this list.
